Construction completion of one Ethane Tank in Borealis, Sweden

SMM has finished the mechanical erection of one ethane tank, with a capacity of 52.000 m3, in Borealis (low-density polyethylene plant – LDPE), Stenungsund, Sweden.

This storage facility will receive liquefied ethane coming from the exploration of shale gas in the USA, which will replace higher priced naphtha feedstock for the production of ethylene.

The client of SMM, TGE, had made several recognitions of the excellent work performed by SMM, in particular in the areas of safety, quality and productivity.

The conclusion of this project is another important milestone in the SMM activity, which have been considered the most important player in Europe on the erection of cryogenic tanks.
